ANGLESEA SLSC

Surf Life Saving Club

Anglesea, VIC

Completed 2020

The redevelopment of the Anglesea Surf Club has been a 10-year process. The first few years were spent primarily in conversations with the club about the future of surf lifesaving, the growth of the club into the largest Nipper (junior lifesaving) program in Victoria and therefore the need for a facility that can further educate groups about beach safety, first aid and CPR.

The facility also aimed to create a better connection with the local community by providing spaces that could be used by activity groups not necessarily related to surf lifesaving. We spent a long time in consultation with the community, the club members and committee members to generate a plan that could meet all these requirements.

The club was recently shortlisted in the Life Saving Victoria awards in the category for Outstanding Achievement of the Year for the delivery of the new surf club during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns.
